BayuBayu.com evolution

BayuBayu website evolution

I like web design, and has been creating web since I was at junior high school. This post is the showcase for the evolution of this site. Starting from the first unpublished simple design created by Microsoft Word… Then hosted on free hosting… To the current version.

First website

(1998) Bayu Inside?? (unreleased)

This is my first website design… Created using Microsoft Word. Notice the silly ‘bayu inside’ logo :-D. This was created when I was in junior high school. Had no knowledge in HTML at all.

Bayu inside

(1999) (unreleased)

This is my first time trying web editor software (as far as I could remember it was Adobe Pagemill). The design featured huge buttons. I was a huge soccer maniac back then that I put AC Milan logo there (it is my favourite  football club).

Bayu inside

(1999) Bayu Official Homepage Version  1

This is my first website that published online in the internet, so I called it as Version 1. It was hosted at Geocities. I was very glad that I put the web address in my name card :-D. You know, having a personal website was very cool.

I used Microsoft Frontpage for creating this site. The design was inspired (or stealed?) from game site I saw at magazine (I can’t remember the site name, but I  copycat most of its design). You can see it still had a silly ‘bayu inside’ logo.

Brown website

(1999)

Next design, still in brown! I don’t know why that tone dominated my early web designs.

In this version, I was playing around with Macromedia Fireworks. This is the result. Honestly i don’t like the bad colors composition. This site is my experiment in layout . This was also introducing new tagline “Bayu official page”, still, super silly… 😀

Website with frame

(1999) (Unreleased)

This version was using frame. The problem were: lack of contents. Seemed too much spaces, ’cause just a few contents to be put on. Back then, the free stuff & service are still booming, so I put all of them there. From free search engine, webmail, guestbook, etc. This site also has new title: “BayuRiz”, which was my nickname back then.

Gray color

(2001) BayuRiz Official Page

Tried Macromedia Fireworks and Dreamweaver. This design had darker grayish theme. Not my favourite 🙂

Colorful website

(2001-2002) BayuRiz Project

This design is more colorful and fun. I was just starting to learn PHP and implemented it to the site, so the site was more dynamic. It has guestbook and polling feature.

I also started to learn Flash. This site featuring my first Flash game Eek Pro 2002.

Even more colorful

(2002-2005) BayuRiz Project (Version 5.5)

This is the next iteration of previous design. Many update on PHP script and starting to use MySQL database. The design also got make over.

Bayubayu.com

(2005) BayuBayu.com

New version got more serious. After a while stuck in old design, I decided to refresh it with something all new. The website now had its own domain (bayubayu.com). I also developed my own CMS engine named bayubayuCMS. The site name also changed from Bayuriz to BayuBayu. It also got new blue cat logo.

BayuBayu version 7

(2007) BayuBayu.com Version 7

This new design has darker theme, but I actually never finished it. BayuBayuCMS is not powering my site anymore and being replaced by Wordpress, an easy to use blog engine that got very popular. This is a release post related to this. I also just started my career as a software developer that leaves me a little time for playing around with my website. So… the site was kinda neglected. This site is written in English for broader audience.

BayuBayu version 9

(2014) BayuBayu.com Version 9 (Current Version)

Web development world has changed! New tech are coming everyday. I think this is the time to activate my site again! I rebuilt this website to share and learn together with the community. This version developed using HTML5 and responsive design technique while still maintaining backward compatibility with older browsers.

  1. Hey just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The words in your post seem to be running off the screen in Opera.
I’m not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with internet browser
compatibility but I figured I’d post to let you know. The design look
great though! Hope you get the problem resolved soon. Kudos
